Dear Timothy,
We feel compelled to tell you of our reaction to our first swimming
experience with salt water in our pool. We have always enjoyed
a saltwater swim but as you know, Puget Sound isn't exactly up
to temperature. We never realized how mild the level of salt in
the water would be for this type of system.
We did not rush to install the system but rather sought council
from various outside corrosion and water quality experts available
to us throught our business. We have owned and managed our pool
since 1959 (37 years) and at this point I almost feel guilty in
that, it takes so little to keep it sparkling and enjoyable.
No chlorine shock treatment - no chlorine odor - no chlorine eye,
irritation and no chlorine cost;. We feel certain that we alone
have used over one ton of granular chlorine since we have owned
our pool. Where were you for that time ? In three and one half
months of heavy use of the pool, we, have used about $1.60 worth
of salt (due to backwashing - our Scottish ancestors would approve.)
One last point - for years I've wondered how competitive swimmers
can stay in their lane and nudge the end of the pool. Every time
I tried, my eyes would feel very uncomfortable. As a result, when
doing laps, I would wonder from side to side and have to open
my eyes to judge the end of the pool. For the first time in sixty
five, years of swimming I open my eyes most of the time with no
red eyes or uncomfortable feeling. For all of the above, we thank
you and your organization. You done good !
