TMI is pleased to announce that Columbia Athletic
Clubs of Washington has agreed to convert all of
their Club swimming pools over to Salt PureŽ water!
The Columbia Athletic Club chain consists of 5 state
of the art facilities, 3 of which contain pools. These
are located in Kirkland, Sammamish and Everett,
Washington. The total number of bodies of water to
be converted will be 8, consisting of Lap Pools, Spas
and Childrens Wader pools.
TMI Salt PureŽ Corp. first approached the Juanita
Bay location in 1998, and remained in contact with
them until the General Manager,requested a revised
proposal in June 2004. The Juanita Club installation
was considered to be a test for the Columbia Athletic
Clubs.
Within a matter of months the system was installed
and running. Jeff Lindgren, the Maintenance
Director, performed an audit of the
savings realized by converting to Salt PureŽ after a
period of 6 months. This analysis is detailed below.
Indoor Pool is 65,000 gallons and used Calcium
Hypochlorite as a sanitizer spending around $375.00
per month on chlorine (annual average). The pH
medium is CO2.
Since the conversion the waters pH has
stayed at 7.5 without the use of C02
resulting in a savings of $300.00 over 6 months.
Calcium levels have dropped from 500+ to the desired
level of 250.
Use of Optimizer and scale inhibitor have dropped to
zero.
Overall savings have resulted in a system
payoff in 16 to 18 months. Jeff
estimates that he has reduced the time he
spends maintaining the pool by about 50%!! Time he
uses elsewhere in the club.

" Every Sunday night I add a few
ounces of each of the PMP chemicals, these in
conjunction with my TMI Salt PureŽ System, keep
my pool incredibly clear & clean, with a LOT less
maintenance that I have experienced in the last 3
years at this facility !!"
I Asked Mark Peterson if he has tracked any new
members joining the club as a result of the
conversion over to Salt PureŽ he smiled and said:
" Yes, we marketed the change over to
a Natural Sanitizer to the community and actually
saw our membership increase by 7 members. At a
rate of $82.00 per month, the Salt PureŽ conversion
has more than paid for itself. It is actually a revenue
generator!!".
The Columbia Athletic Club executive
management
decided to convert all existing bodies of water - in all
clubs -in February 2005. The job will be completed
by April 2005.
